Circe

Here I am in front of the mightiest men alive, Odysseus ,son of Laertes and the king of Ithaca. Odysseus, this wise man has opened my eyes to the trouble that I have caused men that sailed across my island of Aeaea. After committing such misfortune I decided that the time has come to change and ask for forgiveness. From the day that Odysseus held his sword against me as I attempted to transfer him into swine like I did to his men sadness came upon me. I thought to myself what pleasure does this bring me. It’s true that I have been lonely and angry towards my past and the suffering that had lead me to take it out on every man on this earth but I have to realize that I have ruined families. Even though I have been granted such power I should have used it wisely. From that moment I felt deeply in love with Odysseus that I freed his men and everyone that I transferred into animals out of their misery and back to their lives. I felt the need to pay them back and that is to keep them in my home until they are ready to continue their voyage that I warned Odysseus of. I know deep down in my heart that Odysseus's crew will not survive and will not return home ,but I also know that Odysseus is a clever man and can find a way to rescue his men. I informed Odysseus of the dangers that he will encounter on the "Land of the Dead" and "Scylla". Along with that I wish the best for Odysseus and hope he will return home to his lovely wife Penelope and his son Telemachus. Odysseus and I also have a family of our own, and that is our three beloved sons. Once again I can not stand in the way of his happiness. His wife and son have waited too long for his return. Most importantly they need his help. Odysseus has to overtake the suitors that entered his home to marry his wife and to murder his son. This act can no longer be tolerated.
